You can also create keyframes manually by using the Add/Remove Keyframe button. You must create at least two keyframes at different values to vary an effect across the timeline.</p><p class="paragraph">If you decide that you no longer need a keyframe, you can easily delete it from an effect property. To the right of property settings, the Add/Remove Keyframe button becomes available, and a keyframe is added to the timeline.</div></ol><p class="headstep">To add one or more keyframes:</p><ol><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="1">In the Timeline window, select the clip that contains the effect you want to animate.</li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="2">In the Effect Controls window, expand the effect to which you want to add keyframes.</li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="3">Click the Toggle Animation button <img src="images/P_WatchOff_N.gif" alt="Toggle Animation button " height="11" width="9" /> to activate keyframes for the effect property.</li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="4">Move the current-time indicator to the point in time where you want to add a keyframe.</li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="5">Do one of the following:</li><ul><li class="bullet" type="disc">Click the Add/Remove Keyframe button.</li><li class="bullet" type="disc">Adjust the value for the effect property.</li></ul><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="6">Repeat steps 4 and 5 as needed.</li><p class="note"><span class="bold">Note:</span> If the current-time indicator is after the last keyframe for a property, a new keyframe acquires the same value as the preceding keyframe. Otherwise, the new keyframe's value is interpolated based on the previous and next keyframe values.</p></ol><p class="headstep">To delete selected keyframes:</p><ol><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="1">To show the Timeline View in the Effect Controls window, click the Show/Hide Timeline View button <img src="images/P_ChevLeft_Sm_N.gif" alt="Show/Hide Timeline View button " height="14" width="13" />.</li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="2">Do one of the following:</li><ul><li class="bullet" type="disc">Select one or more keyframes and press Delete or Backspace.</li><li class="bullet" type="disc">Drag the current-time indicator in the Effect Controls window to the keyframe and click the Add/Remove Keyframe button.</li></ul></ol><p class="headstep">To delete all keyframes for an effect property:</p><ol><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="1">Click the Toggle Animation button <img src="images/P_WatchOff_N.gif" alt="Toggle Animation button " height="11" width="9" /> to the left of the name of the effect or property. </li><li class="numberstep" type="1" value="2">When prompted to confirm your decision, click OK.</li><p class="note"><span class="bold">Note:</span> When you deactivate the Toggle Animation button, keyframes for that property are permanently removed and the value of that property becomes the value at the current time. You cannot restore deleted keyframes by reactivating the Toggle Animation button.
